Blazing Temps Heats Up Mixed Tri-Level Event

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Such was the theme during the Mixed Tri-Level Team Event that took place at St Mary’s College in Moraga, June 16-18. “We had a great weekend,” Tournament Director DeDee Winfield said. “It was really hot, but the players stepped up their games as well as their water intake!”

In total, 15 teams played four matches over three days.  “The winners of each flight plus one Wild Card played Sunday morning with winners moving to the championship round,” Winfield explained. At the end of the three days, San Ramon Valley High School took  championship honors against Bay Trees Park 2-1. The semifinalist teams were Golden Gate Park and Napa Valley Country Club.

Each player received a participant gift as a thank you for participating in the event and a raffle was organized as well. To add to the on-court fun, the Captain from the Monte Vista High School team, Jon Toney, did a spoof on winning a raffle prize thinking that anything that wasn’t bolted down could be a prize. Check out the picture below! “It was a fun event for all,” Winfield recapped.
